A Cartier Belle Époque Yellow Gold, Diamond, Enamel and Agate Table Clock
Circa 1915
the dial inscribed 'L'amitié / Vous l'offre', the backplate engraved 'Cartier', the reverse stamped '1028', '1815' and '0198', the movement stamped 'M' and a further plate stamped 'RASF', with a later applied plaque bearing engraved presentation inscription.
Diameter 4 1/4 inches.

Condition
Please note that the material description of this lot has been updated from 'quartz' to 'agate' since the catalog intitially went to print. Light surface scratching. Some minor tarnish to enamel borders. One small natural occulsion to the reverse, not visible from the front. The backplate with scratch marks 112235, 5.40, 515054, W13499, C10930.
The work appears in overall good, stable condition. Having a very tight hairline crack to enamel to the immefiate right of the 'X' on dial. Having a later presentation plaque applied to edge of case on back, plaque appears as if it could be easily removed, but would leave some residue from mounting. The clock takes a wind and appears to run, not tested for accuracy nor duration. Additional images available upon request.
